“My name is Bedros Chalatzian and I was born in Thessaloniki, Greece in 1971.
Both my parents were of Armenian origin, but since my mother didn’t know Armenian at all (after the genocide, his father was sent to France), we (me and my other two brothers) grew up speaking merely greek.
My only impact with my mother tongue was the Armenian lessons once a week until the age of 12 (we didn’t have and still we don’t have Armenian everyday school in Thessaloniki) and later when I joined the Armenian Youth, where we were trying to speak Armenian.
Due to these difficulties, my ability to speak and read Armenian was poor, until last year, when I run into Sosy’s advertisement in the facebook concerning online courses in western Armenian.
I started the courses and after 4 sets of 15 lessons, I have now strengthened my vocabulary and also my ability to speak fluently. I am sure that I will soon be able to write in Armenian without making mistakes.
I believe that every Armenian in Diaspora should be able to write and read Armenian.
I highly recommend Sosy Mishoyan not because we became good friends but because she is a professional teacher! ”
